SAFETY IN THE SALON FOR SALONS (BASIC) GF

Do you own a small grooming salon/business or work as a mobile groomer? The AKC Safety in the Salon course helps you show your customers, community and employees how important you consider a pet’s safety while in your care. It covers vital information on safety measures and protocols within the grooming facility and can be completed at your own pace. Your salon/business will also receive free online course access for up to 2 employees.*

Topic Covered:

• Groomer and grooming salon safety protocols
• Best practices focusing on pet care, health and safety
• Accident avoidance, pet and zoonotic disease awareness and sanitation
• How to handle special cases

All salons/businesses who pass the course exam are eligible to become AKC S.A.F.E. Salons. Just complete your application, which includes salon safety oath commitment, photos submission and an emergency/disaster plan, and submit it to the AKC for processing. 

AKC S.A.F.E. Salons receive valuable marketing support from the AKC, including:

• Frameable certificate
• AKC GroomerFinder S.A.F.E. Salon badge
• Priority ranking in AKC GroomerFinder search results
• AKC S.A.F.E. Salon web banner
• AKC Safety Oath counter card
• Access to AKC Call Center to field any consumer questions

*AKC S.A.F.E. Salon criteria includes having at least one AKC S.A.F.E. Groomer onsite at all times.
